Arctic Frontiers 2017 focuses on the youth in a new initiative. Both Ph.D. students, young leaders as well as local schools can participate in a program that runs parallel with the official program.
A 17-year old female student from Tromsø was given the opportunity to speak at the policy panel debate Tuesday morning. Here she presented her perspective on the future of the Arctic, and among other things, she addressed the Norwegian Foreign Minister in her speech, who was also present at the panel. She reminded him of the importance of youth in society, and stated that their future will be affected by the policies he and the government are working on today.
Every third of the 2000 participants at the Arctic Frontiers Conference 2017 falls under the category ‘young delegate’.
