At the Arctic Frontiers Conference in Tromsø, various discussing fora, presentations and panel debates put emphasis on discussing the Arctic Stakeholder Forum.
At the Arctic Stakeholder Forum session, different Arctic regions presented their sustainable development initiatives – ”Good ideas grow below zero”, as one of the participants from Northern Sweden stated.
During the meeting, the Arctic actors had the opportunity to voice their suggestions on how support from the EU can contribute to different projects. Topics such as infrastructure and sustainability were mentioned repeatedly, as well as the need for specializations in the Arctic, such as Arctic Smartness Clusters.
The presenters were primarily from the European Arctic, which the participants took a critical stance towards. “We must not forget the Arctic outside of the EU”, one participant stated.
Arctic Consensus has a delegate present at the Arctic Frontiers Conference, and we are following the topics and debates closely.
