This week Arctic Consensus met with the Polish ambassador in Denmark. The meeting focussed on the opportunities that could lay within a future cooperation. Ambassador Henryka Mościcka-Dendys was very interested in hearing about how Arctic Consensus is working with the Arctic region, and how collaborations are developed across countries.
Amongst others, another topic during the meeting was the project “Go Arctic”, which involves Poland and Northern Europe. The project focuses on green energy, and there has already been a successful expedition to Greenland in the autumn of 2015.
The ambassador has a sharp focus on the Arctic. Amongst others, Poland currently holds the presidency of the Baltic Sea Council, which will hold a conference in June 2016. In addition to that, Poland has an observer status in the Arctic Council and cooperates with Canadian and US partners. The ambassador was, with this experience, very interested in participating in Arctic Consensus’ next round of North Denmark Arctic Dialogue.
