Arctic Consensus participated in the session about UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) with Mogens Lykketoft, former President of the United Nations General Assembly.
The session was held at CREATE, Aalborg University’s building at the harbor front in central Aalborg. During his presentation, Mogens Lykketoft focused on how the 17 Sustainable Development Goals were created, and what they mean exactly.
Lykketoft was Presiden of the General Assembly in 2015, where the 17 SDG’s were unanimously enacted. He possessed an insider’s view and knowledge about the process behind the creation of these significant world goals, which he talked about during the event.
In his presentation, Lykketoft touched upon subjects such as; a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren, and a necessity of moving away from the current form of economic growth which is damaging to environment and climate, furthermore, he focused on equality between the sexes and decreasing inequality in countries and between countries.
Both businesses, citizens and student were participating at the event. After the presentation there was a Q&A, where especially the participants from businesses were asking questions to Mogens Lykketoft.
The event ended with a network reception for all the participants.
